The Goodwin's

I know that most of my posts are about Conor, just a proud Momma! But here is something that Craig and I did... On Saturday Craig and I went over to Julie and Kevin Goodwin's house. They were having a party welcoming Kevin home from his 8 month deployment in Iraq. Of course, they had beer pong too! I didn't stay to see the entire tournament, but Craig and Matt (Chewy) won six games in a row, and I am sure that they finally lost because Craig couldn't drink any more beer! Chewy on the other hand, was fine.

House rules states that if you don't catch the ball after it is thrown, it is any man's game. This ball got away from them and they ended up dog-piling on each other trying to get it. We will never grow up!

All Dressed Up

Conor is a little young to go trick-or-treating, but we still wanted to dress him up for Halloween. A teacher that Craig works with loaned us this teddy bear costume. I tried it on last Friday to make sure that it would fit, and he looked so cute in it that I had to take some pictures. Hopefully we will get a few more good ones while we are out trick-or-treating with some friends, but just in case, we at least have these!

Do I have to go back to work?

I am looking forward to November, but at the same time I don't want it to come. It just means that time is going by too fast and soon I will be back at work. Luckily, Conor will be watched by my mom, Oma, at her day-care center. Even though this is reassuring knowing that he will be very well taken care of, why would I want to leave this smiling laughing baby to work!?

Here are a few pictures of Conor laughing at me right after he had a "blow-out." I am not sure if he was laughing at me, or at the mess that he had just made! (This is why there is no cover on his changing pad... it had to go in the wash!)

Look at those chubby cheeks! At his two month appointment we learned that Conor has almost doubled his birth weight! (6 lbs 12 oz to 12 lbs 6 oz!) This may be due to the fact that my body believed that I had a litter and not just one tiny baby!

Found my hands!

In the past few weeks Conor has discovered his hands. He is always now shoving them into his mouth, holding them near his face and looking at them, or getting excited when he uses them to hit or move one of his toys. Here are a few pictures of him putting his fist in his mouth. He has a big mouth because sometime he gets that whole thing in there!

Sweet little baby! We couldn't give him his binkie fast enough, so he decided that his thumb would do just fine!

Fun Times

We have had a busy October. Conor has been out to dinner

or lunch about 15 times now. We have been to Oma's and Opa's house

every week too. We have also visited our friends Beau and Andrea to watch football. Plus we continue to have vistors over to our house.

My girlfriend Joy, from UCSD, came down to San Diego to visit with friends.

She, her son Lachlan (8 months), and my two other college girlfriends, Tara and Courtney, came by one day for lunch. Lachlan is so cute! He is moving so much right now. It was a great insight to see what Craig and my future will be like in the up coming months!

Here is Conor getting in some Tummy Time. He actually kinda likes tummy time. He will lay there trying to push up for sometimes 30 minutes!




Here is our little munchkin laughing! His hair almost always stands straight up on the top of his head. I'll just encourage it to make a faux-hawk, but many times it does it on its own!

First Night Away

We had our first night away from Conor two weeks ago. Our friends Adam and Becca got married and my parents watched Conor for us. We didn't know what time we were going to be home, so it was decided that my parents would take Conor for the night. I think that we all did ok... I was definately missing him by the time we came home and it was so sad to sleep next to an empty bassinette! We woke up early and met my parents for breakfast... Conor slept the entire day! Our friends Dave and Megan came out for the wedding. They came over for dinner and to meet Conor.




We had a good time at the wedding! I was having a bit of a wardrobe malfunction... post-pregnancy issues... Thanks to Megan and Dave for helping me track down a safety pin!

The First Month

At my baby shower one of the guests suggested that I take a picture of Conor next to a Teddy Bear every month to watch him grow. Here he is the first week!

The first month flew by so quickly with Conor. As many people already know, Conor came 8 days early. Not ridiculously early, but early enough that I wasn't able to start the school year. If you were to talk to anyone at work, I was coming back.... or so I thought! Conor was born on the 12th, and school started on the 19th, with teachers returning back to work on the 14th. Everyone told me that you are always late with your first child..... not always.

The first week that we brought Conor home, Craig had to go to work. He was getting tenured this year and needed to be there with all the teachers on the first work day. Luckily for Conor and myself, my mom came over during those first few days. But since she and Patti started their day-care business this year (how convenient huh!) she couldn't come over everyday, so Tim and Jess came by too. Craig worked through the first day of school and

then he took 3 weeks off to stay home with Conor and myself. It was nice getting use to the sleepless nights without having to worry about either of us getting up the following morning for work!

For the first few weeks, we didn't have any clothes that fit him! I had lots of 0-3 and 3 month clothes, but needed newborn outfits too. I sent my mom out to buy our first couple of boy outfits for newborns. The only problem was, all of those outfits were too big too! Luckily a friend, Berkley, had kept all of her sons' clothing and loaned us a few premie outfits and even more newborn outfits. He didn't get to wear them for long though!

During the first month we had lots of friends and family stopping by to meet Conor. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of everyone, but below are the ones that I did get. Thank you to everybody for coming by and visiting us!

Even with their crazy wedding planning lives, Becca and Adam came over one evening to have dinner with us and meet Conor. Thanks you two, your wedding was wonderful! (post to come!)



My fabulous co-worker/ substitute teacher was able to stop by one day after finishing setting up my classroom and teaching students to meet Conor! Amiee had to set up almost my whole classroom because I didn't get a chance to finish before Conor arrived!


Kristi found time in her hectic work schedule to make it down south again to visit with Craig, Conor and myself.

Craig's mom came into town for a little over a week at the beginning of September. She helped out a lot between taking care of Conor in the mornings while I got to shower and making dinners. It was great that she was able to come out and meet her grandson.

Andrew

This is a little out of order, but it is just too cute to leave out! Here are pictures and some video of my nephew Andrew dancing to some Christian music. Here he is 13 months old and he was doing an excellent job of keeping the beat and trying to snap!

You can tell that we are starting to get tired!

Pictures of Conor

At 1 week old Conor had his first baby pictures taken. My sister-in-law, Jessica, and my brother, Timmy, came over and Jess took about 200 hundred pictures of Conor. I really had the most difficult time deciding which ones I wanted her to photo shop and then which ones I am going to put in the baby announcement. I didn't want to have to choose from them again, so instead I put them together in a slide-show. It is really long... sorry! Once I get the ones that Jessica touched up, I'll just upload those!
